Sagrantino and other wines

The itinerary
  • Umbria is waiting for you, we have selected for you a nice accommodation in the area to be comfortably located throughout the itinerary. Upon your arrival you will have the rest of the day free for you to familiarize with the area or chill.

  • Today we go to Assisi. This town that is (as you probably know) one of the most important centers of adoration for Christians is the birthplace of St. Francis, patron saint of Italy, and St. Clare and for this reason has an artistic heritage truly incredible. Placed on the side of the Subasio Mountain, the city center with its Basilicas, Superior and Inferior offer to the visitor some masterpices (just tomention a couple) by Cimabue and probably Giotto. Our guide will take you to the discovery of these beauties so we don't give you a preview here. In the afternoon we will move to Torgiano area where we will start the part of the itinerary dedicated to wine: here we will visit MUVIT and MOO, expositions of Fondazione Lungarotti which keep ancient witnesses about wine before going into a sensorial experience which includes tastings of excellent wines and excellent oil produced locally. At the end of the day, the rest of the day will be at your free for you to explore the area before going back to your accommodation.

  • The third day starts with a new tasting experience: we move to Montefalco, close ti Foligno. The local excellence is called Sagrantino, fine red wine. Here we have reserved you a wine tasting experience  in order to let you try the difference with the wines of the previous day and, as we are in Foligno area, in the afternoon we will take you visiting this lovely town, homeland of the Quintana, a medieval game held here twice a year. After the visit the rest of the day will be free.

  • The last day of this trip will be completely free from scheduled visits or experiences. Once you check out from the accommodation, we recommend a visit to Spoleto, another capital of the Umbrian Middle Ages. Here we have already purchased the entrance to various monuments of the city whose visit will be totally free and you can do according to your interests. We say goodbye here, until the next toast ...

Let's go!
