Ascoli and its surroundings

The itinerary
  • The itinerary begins, clearly, in Ascoli Piceno. Once arrived in town, after checking in at your accommodation, our guide will meet you. The visit will include the main highlights of the city centre: People's square, Arringo square. Ascoli is full of towers, could be fun counting them.  At the end of the of the tour it will be time for a tasting experience: this will include some Ascolane Olives and afterwards we're going to the historic Caffè Meletti to drink some anisetta.

  • Our itinerary continues in Offida, perched on a hill like the majority of Marche's villages. Our guide will meet you to give you some information about this village where an artisan tradition is still alive: the one of "Tombolo" a particular weaving technique still perpetrated by few expert hands. Second stop of the day will be Acquaviva Picena where another artisan tradition still alive, the one of "Paiarole". These are some containers or other supplies to hold stuff weaved and made of straw. The day will end up in Ripatransone to enjoy a stunning lookout on the surrounding panorama before driving back to Ascoli Piceno.

  • After checking out from your accommodation the day will be free for you. Here some suggestions from us: if you're travelling in summer and wanna soak for a bit, San Benedetto del Tronto is an hotspot of the area with its sandy beach. Few kilometres out north of San Benedetto, Grottamare is a cute place for a stroll: this town is built on cliff overlooking the sea, so it's a good place for a break before going back home.
